Committee released their <b><span style='font-weight:bold'>HIT
White Paper</span></b> at the National Primary Oral Health
Conference in <st1:City w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Dallas</st1:place></st1:City>
last week. The <b><span style='font-weight:bold'>"Guide to the
Future: Using HIT to Improve Access and Outcomes"</span></b>
includes an analysis of the different electronic dental records
products currently available to Health Centers. It contains
information on the different requirements, both technical and
operational, for a good electronic dental record product. It lists
the various criteria that Dental Directors and their teams should
look for when considering an electronic dental record (EDR)
product, initial costs, and tips on how to write a Request for
Proposal. The products are rated based on a list of criteria that
the committee members felt important to the operations of a <st1:place
w:st="on"><st1:PlaceName w:st="on">Health</st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType
w:st="on">Center</st1:PlaceType></st1:place> dental program: the
costs to obtain each product including training and on-going
support & the potential interface with other products.<br>
